The mask comes in a container with a screw on lid, it's dark plastic with a black and light blue label. The mask comes just as a power, so you mix in water yourself. The label also states that you can use raw apple cider vinegar instead of water, but I did not try this option. The directions and ingredients are printed right on the side. It is recommended when starting out to apply for ten minutes and work your way up to a full thirty. To remove just use warm water, I used a washcloth as well so I didn't miss areas around my hairline. My skin is sensitive so I only leave it on for 5-10 minutes. I would recommend spot testing to find a time that works for you. I was silly and didn't spot test and then got distracted and left the mask on for 15 minutes my first time using it and it left my skin a bit pink for about thirty minutes. I have used bentonite clay masks before with similar results for leaving it on too long so I should've known better, don't make that mistake and take the time to spot text. I have found that seven minutes is ideal for my skin as it is sensitive.
This mask claims, "Powerful detoxifying action works instantly to restore blemish-prone skin. Toning action helps to reduce discolorations, fine lines, wrinkles and scars and creates a glowing, even skin complexion". I do not have blemish prone skin, my skin type is combination with oily in the t-zone and normal in other areas, so I may not be the best candidate for this type of mask. I have used it as a spot treatment and it dried up blemishes over two to three days. For the toning action I have not seen less fine lines or wrinkles, but it does clean my pores which leads to the appearance of less/smaller pores. I use this mask for oil control, so I apply it to my t-zone. I have also found that if I have a blemish it reduces the redness of the surrounding skin. It does a good job at keeping my skin balanced and less oily through the day. I've been using it on Fridays so when the weekend come around and I am outdoors in the sun I don't become an oily mess.
The Detoxifying Mask is made of a few clays. The ingredients are listed as: Pure Calcium Bentonite Clay, White Kaolin Clay, Rose Kaolin Clay, Moroccan Red Clay, Dead Sea Clay, Moroccan Rhassoul Clay), Epsom Salt, and Pure Collagen Hydrolysate. I have used Bentonite clay masks before it is a naturally occurring clay from volcanic ash used to detoxify and it is very absorbent. This mask is also free of parabens, petroleum, sodium lauryl Ssulfate, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances and is handmade. As with all clay masks I recommend applying a very hydrating moisturizer afterwards. I use this mask at night so I can really slather on whatever moisturizer or beauty oil I am using.
The TruSelf Orangics Detoxifying Mask is $19.50 for 4 ounces of product. This is a pretty good price since it will last a long time as it comes as a power and you mix water into it yourself. A little goes a long way, so I can see myself having this mask for quite some time.
Overall I think this product is pretty good, however I am not the best candidate for this as I am not acne prone. I use it mostly for oil control and as a spot treatment which I do find it effective. I wouldn't recommend it for those on the sensitive side or those with dry skin, but it is well suited for oily skin types.
